Strong Wife, Caring Heart: Lifting Her Husband in Need | Part-2

The Struggle and Playful Strength

Missed Part 1?
Don’t forget to read how it all started! In Part 1, Kavya lifted her injured husband Arjun for the first time—what began as a moment of care turned into a surprising discovery of her hidden strength. That day didn’t just change Arjun’s recovery journey—it changed Kavya’s view of herself forever.

Over the next few days, things started to feel a little different. Kavya couldn’t help but notice her strength. It wasn’t anything huge, but it was there. It wasn’t just the way she picked up Arjun that morning; it was in how easily she moved around, carried groceries, or handled things that used to be a little tough for her. She felt stronger and more confident.

But Arjun wasn’t having the same experience. The fall in the bathroom had left him a bit shaken, and even though he acted like everything was fine, he wasn’t fully alright. His back still ached every now and then, and he couldn’t shake the feeling that the fall had taken a bigger toll on him than he wanted to admit.

Despite his discomfort, he refused to let it show. But Kavya noticed. She could tell when he wasn’t walking as easily or when he’d wince when he bent down. So, naturally, she started teasing him about it. She just couldn’t help herself.

It was one of those lazy afternoons when Arjun was trying to walk from the kitchen to the living room, clearly struggling a little with his back.

Kavya, noticing how he was moving slowly, stepped up beside him.

"Need a hand?" she asked with a playful grin.

Arjun glanced at her. "What, so you can laugh at me while I’m half-bent over?"

She rolled her eyes and shrugged. "Not laughing, just helping." She placed an arm around his waist, offering to support him as they walked.

He shot her a look, but there was a hint of a smile playing at the corner of his lips. "You sure you can handle it? I’m not exactly light, you know."

Kavya raised an eyebrow. "I’m stronger than you think." She winked, and the two of them continued walking like that for a while, her arm around him.

Later that day, Arjun was sitting on the couch, stretching his back.

"I think I’m done for today," he sighed, rubbing his lower back. "This whole ‘strong guy’ thing is not working for me anymore."

Kavya leaned against the doorway, arms crossed. She couldn’t resist. "You need help getting to the couch, Mr. Strong Guy?"

Arjun made a face. "I’m good, just tired."

But then, with a sly grin, he added, "You know, if you’re so strong, maybe you should carry me to the couch. You lifted me like a pillow the other day, remember?"

Kavya blinked in surprise, then burst out laughing. "You are out of your mind if you think I’m lifting you all the way to the couch."

He chuckled. "What, it’s no big deal. You’ve been carrying those shopping bags like they’re nothing, so how hard can it be to carry me? I’m just a little heavier, that’s all."

Kavya raised her hands in mock surrender. "Okay, I get it! I’m strong! But you really want me to carry you to the couch? Seriously?"

Arjun shrugged dramatically. "Hey, if you’re the strong one, then you should have no problem."

Kavya just shook her head, half-amused and half-exasperated. "Okay, okay, no more lifts for you today. You’re lucky I even helped you walk!"

Arjun grinned. "Yeah, yeah. You’ll be carrying me around in no time. I’ll be your personal bodyguard from now on."

Kavya playfully shoved him. "Keep dreaming."

As they relaxed, the whole thing kept running through Kavya’s mind. How was she able to lift him so easily? And why didn’t she feel as tired as she thought she should? Arjun still seemed a little too proud of the idea that he was the strong one in the relationship, but Kavya was starting to wonder if the tables were turning.

A New Twist—Sarika's Arrival

After the playful moments with Arjun, Kavya felt a little more at ease with her newfound strength. But life, as always, had other plans.

It was one afternoon when Kavya suddenly started feeling unwell. What began as a mild headache turned into something worse. By evening, she was running a fever and barely had the energy to stand. Arjun, still recovering from his own fall, noticed immediately.

"Kavya, you don’t look good," he said, concerned as she sat on the couch with a blanket wrapped around her. "Maybe you should lie down."

Kavya groaned. "I feel like I’ve been hit by a truck."

Despite her playful teasing earlier, the reality was that her strength didn’t seem to matter now. Her body was worn out, and the illness was dragging her down. Arjun, despite his own discomfort, tried to help her to the bedroom, but it was clear that neither of them were in a good state to be moving around.

That's when Kavya thought of something.

She pulled out her phone and called her younger sister, Sarika.

"Sarika, I need your help," Kavya said weakly into the phone. "I’m really not feeling well. Can you come over? Arjun’s hurt too, and I… I need someone to help us both."

Sarika, who sounded just like Kavya with her cheerful voice, immediately agreed. "Of course, didi ! I’ll be there as soon as I can!"

Within a few hours, Sarika arrived at their home. She was just as tall and slim as Kavya, with the same dark hair and bright smile. The only difference was her youthful energy, which she brought with her in full force.

"How are you both doing?" Sarika asked, her eyes scanning the living room and the two of them lounging on the couch.

Kavya tried to smile, but it quickly turned into a cough. "I’m okay. Just need some rest."

Sarika raised an eyebrow, giving her sister a knowing look. "Uh-huh. Well, I’m here now, so no more complaints, okay?"

For the next few days, Sarika stayed with them, taking care of both Kavya and Arjun. She was a whirlwind of energy, moving from task to task without pause.

She helped Arjun with simple things—getting to the bathroom, stretching his sore back, even helping him sit outside in the garden when he felt too tired to do anything else. Arjun, although still recovering, was grateful for the help. But he also found it strange how easily Sarika seemed to handle things—like lifting him, helping him sit, and even giving him playful little teases about his "wounded warrior" status.

Kavya, too, found herself on the receiving end of Sarika’s care. The younger sister made sure she was resting, bringing her water, food, and medicine when needed. But despite how much she tried to rest, Kavya couldn't help but feel a little annoyed at herself. She wanted to be up and moving again, to show off the strength she had discovered, but her body refused to cooperate.

One morning, Sarika helped both of them to the garden. The fresh air felt nice, but Kavya still didn’t feel 100%. Arjun had to lean on Sarika for support as they made their way outside.

"You both look like a couple of old people," Sarika joked, helping Arjun sit on one of the garden chairs.

Arjun shot her a tired look. "I thought you were here to help, not roast us."

Sarika laughed. "I’m helping by keeping you two entertained. You’re welcome."

Kavya smiled weakly, but Sarika’s presence made things feel a little lighter. She realized she had missed this—having her sister around.

Sarika continued to help around the house, lifting and moving things with ease, just like Kavya had done. It wasn’t lost on Kavya that her sister seemed just as strong as she was—maybe even stronger. Sarika had always been an active person, but Kavya never thought of her as someone with unexpected strength.

As the days passed, Sarika did everything from household chores to taking Arjun and Kavya for walks in the garden. It wasn’t just physical help; it was the emotional support, the laughter, and the little moments of care that made things feel normal again.

But there was still something bubbling under the surface. Kavya couldn’t help but wonder if this was the start of something bigger—something that she still didn’t fully understand about her newfound strength. And with Sarika around, she had a feeling there would be more surprises ahead.

Sarika's Unexpected Strength

Days passed with Sarika doing everything she could to help both Kavya and Arjun. But despite the care and attention from her younger sister, Kavya still felt incredibly weak. The fever had taken a toll on her, and though she tried to be strong, the illness kept her from moving around much.

One morning, Arjun was feeling a little better and insisted that he wanted to sit outside in the garden. He had been cooped up inside for too long, and the fresh air would do him good.

Sarika, ever the caring one, helped Arjun to his feet. "Alright, big guy," she teased, putting an arm around him to support his weight. "Let’s get you out there."

It took a little longer than expected, but Sarika finally got him seated on a bench in the garden. She stood there for a moment, making sure he was comfortable before heading back inside to check on Kavya.

As Sarika entered the room, she found Kavya sitting in bed, looking exhausted. The exhaustion was clear on Kavya’s face—her eyes were heavy, and she had that defeated look of someone who wanted to do so much more but simply couldn’t.

"Hey, didi," Sarika called softly, walking over to her sister. "How are you feeling?"

Kavya gave a small sigh. "Honestly, I can barely move... I’m just so tired."

Sarika gave her a sympathetic look but didn’t waste any time. "Come on, I’ll help you walk outside. The garden should lift your spirits."

Kavya shook her head, her eyes barely open. "No, Sarika... I can’t even move. I’m just... stuck." She sighed again, glancing at the window where the sun was shining. "I wish I could be out there with you guys."

Sarika knelt down beside her and smiled, sensing her sister's frustration. "Don’t worry, didi," she said gently. "I’ll help you. Let me just get you moving a little, okay?"

Kavya weakly protested, "No, really, you don’t need to. I can’t even get up... it’s not worth it."

But Sarika wasn’t about to let her sister down. She stood up, determined, and moved toward Kavya. "Alright, if you say so. But don’t worry, I’ve got you."

Kavya’s eyes widened slightly. "Sarika, don’t strain yourself. I’m not exactly light—"

But Sarika was already bending down, putting one arm under Kavya’s shoulder and the other under her legs.

Kavya gasped, startled by how easily Sarika scooped her up. It was just like when she’d lifted Arjun—only this time, it was her own sister doing the lifting.

Sarika didn’t break a sweat. She lifted Kavya effortlessly, holding her in her arms with the same ease as if Kavya was weightless.

Kavya, still in shock, half-heartedly protested, "Sarika, don’t hurt yourself."

Sarika laughed, her voice light and carefree. "Don’t worry, didi. You’re light. This is nothing."

Kavya blinked, surprised by her sister’s strength. The thought of her little sister being so strong hadn’t even crossed her mind. She hadn’t expected Sarika to be able to lift her like this, let alone carry her so easily.

As Sarika stepped out into the garden, she swayed gently with Kavya in her arms. She even gave a little bounce, just to cheer her up. "How’s that, didi? Is the garden brightening up your mood a bit?"

Kavya was in awe, feeling both a little embarrassed and strangely proud of her sister’s unexpected strength. She couldn’t help but laugh softly. "Okay, you win. You’re definitely the strong one now."

Sarika grinned and gently lowered her sister onto the bench beside Arjun. "Don’t get too comfortable, didi. I’m not done yet!" She continued swinging Kavya lightly in her arms, as if to make the whole thing feel more like a fun game than a task.

Kavya couldn’t help but smile, the gentle motion calming her nerves. "Alright, I admit it. You’re stronger than me now. Maybe I should just let you do all the heavy lifting from now on!"

Sarika chuckled, shaking her head. "Don’t get used to it, didi. I’m just helping out today." She winked playfully.

Kavya laughed softly, feeling a little lighter—both physically and emotionally. It was funny how something as simple as being carried by her sister could make her feel so much better. She closed her eyes for a moment, letting the warmth of the sun and the fresh air wash over her, and realized that with Sarika around, maybe things weren’t as tough as they seemed.

Kavya was momentarily stunned as her sister carried her with such ease. She was so used to being the one doing the lifting, and now, she found herself in the arms of someone who seemed to have as much strength as she did—maybe even more.

"Don’t hurt yourself," Kavya said, a little flustered.

Sarika laughed, making a playful sound like it was the most ridiculous thing Kavya had said. "I’m fine, didi. You’re not even heavy! Honestly, I thought you were going to be a lot more work."

Kavya couldn’t help but laugh despite her own embarrassment. "Okay, okay. I’m impressed. But don’t get used to this!"

"Don’t worry, I’m not going to make a habit of carrying you around like this," Sarika teased as she carefully walked out into the garden. "But hey, we can make this a fun little sister bonding moment."

As they reached the garden, Arjun’s eyes widened at the sight. "Whoa, Sarika, you’re really carrying her? This is like some kind of superhero moment!"

Sarika gave a dramatic nod, her smile growing wider. "Of course! I’ve got this down to an art. Don’t worry, Arjun. I’m your backup now!"

Kavya, still in her sister’s arms, looked up at Arjun with a sheepish smile. "I swear, I didn’t expect this from Sarika."

Arjun chuckled. "You two really are something else. I thought I was the strong one around here."

Sarika lowered Kavya onto the bench beside Arjun, gently easing her down like she was a fragile doll. Then, without missing a beat, Sarika leaned in and whispered to her sister, "See? I told you I could do it. Maybe I should start charging for my lifting services."

Kavya rolled her eyes but was clearly amused. "You’re insane."

But Sarika wasn’t done. As she stood up, she swayed Kavya slightly in her arms, bouncing her up and down in a playful motion. "How’s that for some mood-lifting, didi?"

Kavya burst out laughing, the sound of her laughter filling the air like a little burst of joy. "Alright, alright. I admit it. You win. You’re stronger than me now."

Sarika grinned triumphantly. "Told ya! Maybe I should start lifting weights or something. You know, just in case."

Arjun chuckled and nudged her. "I think you might just be the new strong one in the family. Looks like Kavya has some serious competition."

Kavya groaned playfully. "Great, just what I needed. First Arjun, now Sarika. Everyone’s stronger than me!"

The three of them sat in the garden, chatting and laughing together. Despite everything going on, the mood had lightened. For the first time in a while, Kavya felt truly at peace, surrounded by her two favorite people—one of whom was proving to be unexpectedly strong, and the other was her always-supportive husband.

A New Beginning

The days passed by with a new rhythm in the house. Sarika, ever the caring and playful sister, had made sure that Kavya and Arjun were well taken care of. The garden became their heaven—a place where sunlight bathed them in warmth, and laughter echoed through the air.

Though Sarika had now left to attend to her own matters, Kavya and Arjun were learning to rely on each other more than ever. Arjun’s recovery was still ongoing, but with Kavya’s newfound strength, they found themselves in a unique position: both learning what it meant to lean on the other.

The playful teasing continued, of course. Kavya couldn’t resist teasing Arjun whenever he struggled with something, especially when it came to lifting heavy bags or carrying things around the house. Arjun, in turn, would give her a smirk and jokingly remind her that he was still the "strong one" at heart, even if she was now the one doing most of the lifting.

But deep down, there was a deeper understanding between them—one of mutual support and love. They were partners, not just in strength but in everything else.

That evening, after a peaceful day in the garden, the two of them sat together on the porch, watching the sun dip below the horizon.

Arjun, still a little sore but smiling contentedly, reached over and took Kavya’s hand. "You know," he began, his voice thoughtful, "I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to rely on you so much."

Kavya chuckled softly, squeezing his hand. "Well, it’s not every day that the strong one slips on soap, is it?"

Arjun raised an eyebrow but couldn’t hide the grin spreading across his face. "Seriously, I’m proud of you, Kavya. You've been incredible through all of this."

Kavya looked at him, her heart swelling. "I never thought I’d be the one carrying you around either, but hey, I guess we all have our moments."

They both laughed softly, enjoying the quiet warmth of each other’s company.

"And don’t worry," Kavya added, her eyes twinkling with mischief, "even if I’m the strong one now, I’ll always let you think you’re still the ‘big guy’ when we’re out in public."

Arjun chuckled, leaning his head against her shoulder. "Deal. But just so you know, you’re still my favorite superhero."

Kavya’s smile softened. "And you’ll always be mine."

They sat together, the evening air warm and comforting, as if the world had slowed down for just a moment—allowing them to appreciate what they had, and the strength they shared.

Suddenly, Sarika walked into the garden, her suitcase in hand, her usual bright smile now mixed with a hint of sadness. She stood there for a moment, looking at Kavya and Arjun, the love and care between them palpable.

Kavya stood up slowly, her expression softening. "So, you're really leaving now, huh?"

Without a word, Kavya stepped forward and pulled Sarika into a tight hug, feeling her sister's familiar warmth. Sarika hugged her back just as fiercely, her eyes brimming with tears.

"I’m going to miss you so much, Sarika," Kavya whispered, her voice thick with emotion.

Sarika chuckled softly, her tone light but tinged with affection. "Don’t make it sound like I’m leaving forever, didi. You know I’ll be back before you know it."

Kavya squeezed her tighter for a moment, and then, in an almost impulsive motion, she pulled Sarika back slightly and said, "You know, I think it’s time to show you what I’ve learned recently."

Before Sarika could fully process her words, Kavya bent slightly and scooped her sister up in her arms—just like she had done with Arjun. It wasn’t as effortless as when she had lifted him, but it was still surprisingly smooth considering how little practice she had.

Sarika’s eyes widened in surprise, her heart fluttering. "What...?"

Kavya grinned, her heart racing with a mix of joy and disbelief at her own strength. "What’s wrong? Thought I was only lifting Arjun?" she teased.

Sarika laughed, her arms around Kavya’s neck, feeling completely light in her sister’s arms. "Didi! You really are strong now!"

Kavya smirked. “You lifted us the moment you arrived… so I’m just returning the favor before you leave.”

With a playful swing, Kavya carried her sister a few steps before gently setting her down. Sarika looked at her, her expression softening. "That was... amazing, didi."

Kavya winked, her smile wide. "Guess I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve. Now, go take care of yourself, okay?"

Sarika nodded, a bright smile on her face as she wiped her eyes. "You really have changed, didi. But don’t forget, I’m always here for you—no matter how strong you get."

Kavya laughed softly, her heart lighter than it had been in days. "And I’ll always be here for you too."

With one last look at her sister and Arjun, Sarika gave them both a small wave and made her way to the door. "I’ll see you both soon."

As Sarika left, the quiet returned to the house. But this time, it felt different. Kavya and Arjun stood there for a moment, absorbing the silence before Arjun wrapped his arm around Kavya’s shoulders.

"She’s going to be okay," Kavya said softly, her voice tinged with both relief and sadness.

"I know," Arjun said, giving her a small squeeze. "We’ve got each other now."

Kavya nodded, leaning into him as they both turned toward the setting sun. "Yeah, we do."
