Previously: Riya, a fit and strong student, surprised her teachers, including Ms. Nair - by effortlessly lifting her to show her strength, and now... things are getting even more interesting!
As the rain outside began to ease, Ms. Nair smoothed her shawl and smiled warmly at Riya and Ms. Sharma.
“Well,” Ms. Nair said playfully, “I suppose I should be thankful I didn’t land flat on my back today. But Riya, I have to ask—where did you get all that strength?”
Riya grinned, flexing her arm jokingly. “Carrying gym equipment, ma’am. And maybe a little bit of lifting my younger cousins during family gatherings.”
Ms. Sharma laughed. “I’m telling you, Riya could probably carry half the staff if we let her.”
Riya smirked. “I’m up for the challenge. Any volunteers?”
Ms. Nair shook her head, chuckling. “I think one lift was enough excitement for me today.”

Just as she finished speaking, the doors to the gym swung open, and Ms. Kapoor from the PE department walked in, holding a basketball under her arm. She glanced over at the trio, raising an eyebrow at their amused expressions.
“What’s going on here?” Ms. Kapoor asked, approaching with curiosity.
Ms. Sharma crossed her arms with a mischievous glint in her eye. “Oh, you just missed it. Riya caught Ms. Nair mid-fall and lifted her like she was carrying a bag of feathers.”
Ms. Kapoor’s eyes widened as she glanced at Riya. “Really? Is that true?”
Riya nodded proudly. “Yes, ma’am. All in a day’s work.”
Ms. Kapoor smirked. “Interesting… you know, Riya, I was just thinking about finding someone to help move the heavier equipment for the sports fest next week.”
Riya grinned. “Sign me up! I’m ready.”
Ms. Kapoor leaned on the basketball, smiling slyly. “Alright. But if you’re that strong, let’s see how well you handle something a little more challenging.”
Riya raised an eyebrow. “Like what?”
Without another word, Ms. Kapoor casually walked over to Ms. Sharma and gestured to her. “Well, if Riya could lift Ms. Nair, I’m curious if she can lift you, Sharma.”
Ms. Sharma laughed and replied, “Wait a minute, you are also liking it? let me tell you Mam, Riya had lifted me already. I think its time for you to get lifted.”
Ms. Kapoor's mouth dropped open in surprise, “Hey! I didn't signed up for this. Don't include me into this and also I am very heavy to be lifted.”
Riya laughed, cracking her knuckles playfully. “I think I can manage.”
Ms. Nair giggled softly. “Go on, Ms. Kapoor. Let Riya prove herself.”
With everyone looking at her expectantly, Ms. Kapoor sighed dramatically. “Alright, fine. But if you drop me, Riya, I’m making you run laps around the field.”
Riya grinned and confidently approached. “Deal.”
With a little playful flair, Riya crouched and carefully wrapped her arms around Ms. Kapoor’s back and legs. In one smooth motion, she lifted her teacher in a cradle carry, just like she had with Ms. Nair.
Ms. Sharma burst out laughing. “Look at that! Riya’s got you like a sack of potatoes!”
Ms. Kapoor, holding onto Riya’s shoulder for balance, laughed in disbelief. “Okay, this is officially ridiculous. Put me down before someone takes a photo!”
Riya smiled. “Aw, but you’re so comfortable to carry, ma’am!”

Ms. Nair chuckled. “You do look very relaxed up there, Ms. Sharma.”
Riya spun slowly in place, holding Ms. Kapoor easily. “I could probably do a lap around the gym with her!”
Ms. Kapoor laughed loudly. “Don’t you dare!”
After a few more moments of laughter, Riya gently set Ms. Kapoor down. Ms. Sharma clapped her hands together. “Alright, Riya, I think we’ve found our official lifting champion. I might actually recruit you to help with training the juniors next week.”
Riya grinned. “Happy to help anytime.”
Ms. Kapoor smirked, dusting herself off. “Next time, I’m lifting you, Riya. Let’s see how you like it.”
Ms. Nair chimed in with a warm smile. “I think we’ll all need to do more yoga if we want to keep up with Riya.”
As the rain fully stopped and the sun peeked through the clouds, the gym filled with laughter and camaraderie, leaving Riya with an unexpected title—and the confidence that she could lift more than just weights.
Ms. Kapoor, still chuckling, wiped a tear from her eye. "Alright, alright. You’ve impressed me, Riya. I think you’ve earned yourself a challenge for next week."
Riya raised an eyebrow. "A challenge? What, like lifting the entire gym equipment?"
Ms. Kapoor smirked. "I was thinking more along the lines of a real sports challenge—sprints, maybe some heavy lifting, and a few agility drills. We’ll see how you handle a real test of strength. If you will perform good in all those activities, i might refer you for the district competition."
Riya's eyes sparkled. "Bring it on. You might regret challenging me."
Ms. Nair, still amused, added, "I’d say you’re in for a surprise, Ms. Kapoor. Riya’s the one who will be handing out challenges by the end of next week."
Ms. Sharma raised a hand, half in jest. "Before you start making Riya do all the hard work, I think I might need some extra ‘training’ too. We could all use a session from our resident lifting champion."
Riya laughed, winking at Ms. Sharma. "I’ll make sure to give you all a lesson in lifting. Don’t worry, you’ll be lifting me next time."
Suddenly, the doors to the gym swung open once more, and a group of students filed in, looking a bit surprised to see their teachers gathered and laughing.
One of the students, a bright-eyed freshman, caught sight of Riya still standing confidently with her arms crossed. "Riya, what’s going on? You look like you’re in charge now!"
Riya grinned, straightening up. "Oh, you could say I’ve become the official lifting champion of the school."
The student raised an eyebrow. "Wait—lifting? What did you do now?"
Before Riya could respond, Ms. Kapoor gestured toward her. "Oh, just a little bit of carrying around our teachers. You missed quite the spectacle."
The students exchanged amused looks, one of them whispering to their friend. "Do you think we could get Riya to carry us in PE class?"
Riya smirked. "Only if you can keep up with me during the sprints first."
Ms. Sharma shook her head. "You’re setting a dangerous precedent, Riya. Now everyone’s going to expect you to lift them."
Riya laughed, shaking her head. "I’ll only lift the ones who’ve earned it, don’t worry. But I might just teach everyone how to be strong enough to lift themselves."
The students laughed along with the teachers, some even giving Riya an encouraging thumbs-up as they gathered their things for the next class.
As the group of teachers began to disperse, Ms. Sharma turned to Riya with a grin. "You know, maybe next time I’ll challenge you to a tug-of-war, just to see if you can actually pull me to victory."
Riya gave her a mock bow. "You might win, but I’ll make sure to make it interesting, ma’am."
Ms. Nair, still smiling, added, "I think we might need a whole day dedicated to these ‘strength’ challenges. I’ll bring the yoga mats for recovery afterward."
Riya winked. "Sounds like a plan. But I get to be the coach. No complaints when you can’t walk afterward!"
With that, the teachers parted ways, each leaving with a new respect for Riya’s surprising strength. The fun and playful challenge had turned into an unspoken bond between them, all the while filling the gym with the buzz of friendly competition.
On the next day, Riya’s newfound title as the “lifting champion” started to spread among the students and staff. By lunchtime, the gym was buzzing with whispers and curious glances. Everyone was eager to see if Riya could actually live up to the playful claims of being the strongest student in the school.

During lunch, a group of Riya’s classmates cornered her at the table, all grinning mischievously.
“Riya, I heard you were lifting teachers today. Are you going to lift us too?” one of her friends asked, raising an eyebrow.
Riya leaned back in her seat, a grin playing on her lips. “Maybe. But first, you have to earn it. I’m not just going to pick up anyone.”
Another friend, clearly intrigued, added, “So what do we have to do to ‘earn’ a lift?”
Riya leaned forward, her voice low and playful. “Well, I think a race around the playground should be a good start. If you can beat me in that, then I’ll consider it.”
Her friends exchanged nervous glances, but none of them backed down. “Alright, you’re on,” one of them said, determination in her eyes.
Riya raised an eyebrow. “Okay then. First one to the swings and back gets the lift.”
The rest of the students crowded around the playground, curious to see what would unfold. Soon, Riya, her classmates, and even a few teachers were gathered, ready for the race.
Ms. Sharma, watching from the sidelines, chuckled. “Looks like it’s going to be another challenge for you, Riya.”
Riya smirked confidently. “I’m ready. But remember, the winner gets a piggyback ride from me. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!”
The whistle blew, and Riya shot forward like a rocket, her classmates struggling to keep up. The crowd cheered as Riya made it to the swings and back in record time, barely breaking a sweat.
“Looks like I win again!” she called, hands on her hips as she turned to face the panting students.
Her friends laughed, half-exhausted but clearly impressed. “Alright, Riya, you were right—you deserve the title of champion.”
Riya grinned, her energy still high. “Alright, who’s next?”
Just then, a familiar voice called out from behind them. It was their sports teacher Ms. Kapoor, holding a stopwatch and grinning. “I’ve been watching this, and I’ve decided it’s time for your real challenge, Riya.”
Riya turned, eyebrow raised. “A real challenge? You’re going to have to do better than a race.”
Ms. Kapoor held up a clipboard. “We’re going to see if you can carry me, and then I’ll carry you. Just to see if you can handle the big leagues.”
Riya’s eyes widened in mock surprise. “Alright, Ms. Kapoor, bring it on. But you’re not going easy on me, are you?”
Ms. Kapoor smirked. “Not a chance.”
Riya walked closer to Ms. Kapoor and said, “Mam, do you want me carry you like i did yesterday or just piggyback."
"Hey! don't speak loudly, I don't want students to know that yesterday you lifted me like a feather and don't forget i will also lift you today" Ms. Kapoor said nervously.
The crowd gathered once more as Ms. Kapoor, with a playful glint in her eye, stood in front of Riya. With a determined smile, Riya crouched down and with surprising ease, lifted Ms. Kapoor in a piggyback. The students around them cheered.
“Alright, you did it,” Ms. Kapoor said, impressed. “But now it’s my turn.”
With a challenge in her eyes, Ms. Kapoor crouched down and, after a moment of preparation, lifted Riya in a similar piggyback carry. Despite Riya's size and strength, Ms. Kapoor managed it with surprising ease, holding Riya on her back for a few moments before gently lowering her back to the ground.
The crowd erupted into applause, clearly impressed by both of their strength.
Riya grinned and gave a mock bow. “Looks like I’ve got some competition, after all.”
Ms. Kapoor gave her a playful nudge. “You’ve definitely earned your title today, Riya. But don’t think you’ve won just yet. I’ll get you next time.”
Riya laughed. “I’m looking forward to it, Ms. Kapoor. But for now, I’m definitely the strongest in the school.”
The day ended with everyone laughing and talking about the impromptu lifting contests. Riya had proven not only her strength but also her humility and sense of humor. Whether she was lifting teachers or racing around the playground, she’d earned the respect of her peers and teachers alike.
As the students filed out of the gym, Ms. Sharma pulled Riya aside.
“You know,” Ms. Sharma said with a smile, “I think you’ve set the bar for strength around here. But next time, maybe we should have an official competition—with trophies for the winners.”
Riya laughed. “Deal. But this time, I’m making sure my trophy is a piggyback ride from Ms. Kapoor!”
Ms. Sharma shook her head, smiling fondly. “You’ve got a good sense of humor, Riya. You’re going places.”
As the students and teachers scattered to their next classes, Riya couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride. Today, she hadn’t just proven her strength, she’d earned a place in the school’s heart.
But little did Riya know, Destiny had an even bigger surprise planned for her… Stay tuned!
